This poem was written by the welsh poet WH Davies around 1911 and it is his most famous. For the last twelve years I have had it framed alongside a photograph of Windermere, taken from Wandsfell.
It was a present from my stepdaughter Jessie, and has often brought a feeling of calm when l’ve needed it. It is also a strong reminder of the need to find time to appreciate nature's wonders in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. What better place than the Lake District?
